Shobdon is famous for the Shobdon Arches and fabulous church built originally in Anglo-Saxon times with its blue and white interior. The village has an Airfield with Cafe, a village shop with Post Office.

The surrounding area is beautiful and unspoiled and full of interesting walks and numerous public footpaths. Mortimer's Forest links Shobdon to Ludlow which is a haven for walkers and hikers. Herefordshire has many National Trust Properties which draw visitors from afar. 


The Historic town of Leominster is 7 miles away, with its numerous National Trust Properties, and Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum. There is a nice mix of larger supermarkets, together with a mix of unusual small shops and boutiques.  Presteigne is 7 miles away and is known as the "Gateway to Wales". Ludlow, with its historic castleis 12 miles away and is a very popular destination with many markets, restaurants, and a racecourse.

The City of Hereford is 18 miles away with its Cathedral housing the Mappa Mundi. Hereford also offers a variety of shops from clothing to coffee shops.
